Hello comrades !
Here i post about some arabic revolutionary songs with a translation :)
I do that so more of you get known about the arabic revolutionary art !
Guevara Died " Gevara Mat " (http://www.entertainment.farfesh.com/download.php?FP=El-Sheikh-Emam/Gifara-Mat.rm)
- Cheikh Imam
" Guevara died " .. " Guevara died " : The newst line in radios , churchs , mosques , roads , streets , cafes , and bars .. " Guevara died " while chatting and comments continued about !
The exemplar struggler died !
What a loss of a man !
The hero died on his weapon inside forests
He expressed his revolution by his death in silent way without propaganda !
What do you think god bless you ?
You " Antikat " *
Who are cloyed of food and clothes?
Who are warm , clean , and drive GMC ?
Who own the last kind of struggle .. the struggle of hide ?
What do you think god bless you ?
Guevara died without any furor about that !
My eye on him when he died !
He was without comrade says bye !
While his whining was ascending to the sky !
He is shouting and no body hears !
Maybe he was paining beacuse of fire in his body !
Maybe he laughed or smiled or being happy !
Maybe in his last breath said a farewell word for hungry people or a will for who cares about the issue of conflict !
.. There are many pictures in the imagination and millions of possiblities but im sure without any argueing that guevara died as a real man !
You people who work and being deprived who have pain in the body ..
This is the end !
You will get your targets by weapons and bullets .. thats the logic of the new happy time !!! .. The time of americans !!
The word for fire and iron ! while justice is shut or coward !
Hey slaves this is the shout of guevara in every place and homeland ..
There is no different solution or a way out ..
Prepare the army of victory .. or just say : this is the end !
------
* It's a word from the egyptian accent means : old rich :)

It is about the Popular Front to the Liberation of Palestine and its establishment on December 12, 1967 and some of its achievements since then.. personally i find it not that easy to grasp the Palestinian dialect so i'll leave it to katyusha to do some better explaining.
There is a lot of great Arabic songs out there especially those done by Fayrouz, Marcel, Julia Butrus, and even Khalid Alhabir.
Marcel Khalifa- Ene ektartok ya watani (I chose you my country):
marcel1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qO09JT3EKVs)
Marcel once again tusbehon ala watan:
marcel2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmEeCzZoYHI)

Yes , Red Banner as Mariam said .. the first song is about the PFLP and it's establishment in 11/12/1967 :) .. but i don't think it's so beautiful :D
about the internationale arabic copy .. i know that one it's for a band from tunis ! .. but it's too sorry that the copy is not completed .. only some parts !
I prefer those songs about revolution ..
The Anther of Intifada " We are the fire of struggle " (http://arabic.salmiya.net/songs/marcel/ram/marcel9.ram)
- Marcel Khalifa
The Anthem of stone " Get up for the revolution " (http://arabic.salmiya.net/songs/marcel/ram/marcel7.ram)
- Marcel Khalifa
The Anthem of Revolution (http://www.6rbtop.com/library/resources/Ziad-ra7bani/Collection/listen/22652_hi.ram)
- Ziad Al-rahbani

How do you mean, accents like?
And out of curiosity (and because I know some english language accents that are horrible), what Arabic accent/dialect is nicest, and what do you find most horrible?
I heard the Morrocan accent is worst, and that the Palestinian accent is nicest - would you share that opinion?
Sorry to bother you further :P

Yeah coz every country has its own dialect, and there is a huge number of accents within one country.
For example there are some accents in my own country -which is sooo tiny that no one can see on the map- that i don't understand what is being said!
I can use Bahraini, Saudi, Syrian, and Iraqi and sometimes i talk in a freaking mixture so that people can not tell where the hell i come from.
Egyptian is the easiest of all, and north african arabic is the worst coz you can't tell whether its arabic, english, french, or tribal african!!!!
BTW here is a link to a good site that has all those good songs..though you might be interested:

Perhaps this one would strike your fancy? A palestinian liberation anthem in the shape of a classic islamic Nasheed:
Youtube - Sanakhudu (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REt2lkK6uJk)
My personal tastes are a little more classic, like Iranian Qawwali, but this song is very powerful. The lyrics are translated into english in the video as well.
You can also download the song, as well as many others (that are IMHO not as good, however), at Islamp3.com (http://www.islamp3.com)

Hey, I'm wondering if anyone knows a Syrian leftist singer named Samih Choukeir. I'm looking for one of his songs. The English transliteration of the title is "Waqhu Khutana." The song was on a compilation cassette of revolutionary music from around the world called "We Only Want the World." I'm trying to find mp3s of the entire cassette.
If someone could point me to the song somewhere on the internet (in mp3, realaudio, or any other format), it would be very, very much appreciated. In return, I'll upload the portion of the cassette I have already to googlepages and send you a download link. PM me.
Many thanks.

I really enjoy "Unadikom (http://www.metacafe.com/watch/694291/?logout=1)" sung by Marcel Khalife (though I believe it is a poem by someone else). I dont know what it means through and through, but "Unadikom" means "Im calling you".
Arabic is a funny language....its really a bunch of different languages, like friends from Palestine cant understand Cheb Khaled songs like this (http://youtube.com/watch?v=sNJp3HgMso4) Because Maghrebi Arabic is really different from Levantine.
Anyone dig Dabkeh music?

I'm calling you..
I'm calling you..
Holding your hands tight..
and kissing the ground beneath your feet..
and i say afdiekom (i sacrifice myself to you)..
I'd give you my sight..
and the warmth of my heart..
'cuase the misery that i live is my share of your miseries..
I was not humiliated at my country..
I stood facing the darkness..
an orphan..
naked..
with bare feet..
and carried my blood within my palm..
I did not pull my flags down..
and saved the grass..
saved the grass on my ancestors graves..
That's the best i could do..
No wonder i did not take translation as a minor..i suck!
BTW..I don't understand most of rai music.. sheb khald, mami, or rashid taha..though i really enjoy it!

Thanks alot of the translation, and on the note of the differences of the Arabic language, the different dialects should be classified as languages unto themselves, I mean, a Swede could more or less understand Norwegian, same goes for alot of Slavic (particularly South Slavic) languages. The only reason i care is that it is a standard Zionist arguement that the Palestinians are simply arabs, like all other arabs, and could easily live in Egypt, which we all know as false. If they were classified as different languages, the ignorant would be less likely to fall for this stupidity.
I know it sounds stupid, but every Zionist I have ever argued with has dropped this fallacy.

Sounds stupid but rather interesting..i've never though of it this way probably because i see that Palestinians are very well adapting the language of the country they are in... i met some who can beat my bahraini accent!
