thanks to SICKO there's a new buzz within my circle of friends...Towards the end of the movie there's clips of a protest in France and one of them asked. "how do you get something like that started?"

I told him we could do something like that. maybe bigger, or just smaller. but that we could try. He said if you can figure out a way to get some people to protest I'm down!

So I wanted to ask you guys: What do you think is the best place to protest at? outside a health care company? or like a Kaiser Permanente Hospital? at City Hall? where would or stand make more sense?

and what issue should we include?

are there any KEY DATES approaching that we should consider doing this?

I would like some suggestions.

You need to be a good organizer to protest.

A few suggestions:

-Contact other organizations with similar ideas on the health care system. Tell them about your idea and maybe they can help you organize and get more people to protest.

-Visit colleges, talk to students and teachers, make a lecture and invite them to protest.

-Place posters, stands and give pamphlets on the streets with the date, a description of the event and so on. Get a friend who's a good designer to help you produce a good image of the protest. Do NOT include anything related to communism, marxism, anarchism or anything radical. Use symbols which are familiar to people, perhaps on everyday things you see on TV or you hear in the radio.

At a health care insurance company where you're likely to get the most attention/participation.

There is also an organization that focuses on health care issues and has helped to set up various citizen hearings around the US.

Maybe you should talk to some doctors aswell, nurses and healthcare workers, if u get a doctor that doesnt like how the healthcare system is going then people would really start to pay attention aswell
