So I pretty much encouraged many of my co workers to watch SiCKO and surprisingly all of them did. and today at work 5 of us were having a conversation that I WOULD NEVER THOUGHT could come out of these guys.
POLITICS!
obviously they are a bit backward. these movie made them aware that this system is fucked up and that its wrong for human well being. Some started asking more questions and got more encouraged to learn. some were just pissed. ME being the only socialist person in the room noticed somethings. things that we need to address to help people SEE THE BIG PICTURE and how all the problems, discrepancies, injustices and disadvantages tie TO ONE BIG PROBLEM. Capitalism
Though this movie got all us all talking and wondering what we need to do and how to change things. Most of them still believe that answers lie in the new candidates for U.S. Presidents. <_<
and some just have that idealistic mentality. "thats just how things are going to be" and "it will never change"
I resist and hold back. I don't want to go off and try to tell them about socialism and communism just yet. RIGHT now they are taking baby steps. but I would like to them to get more interested in the BIG PICTURE. with out scaring them away or overwhelming them.
what would be the best way?
