what would happen if trotskysim is being used instead of stalinisim ,what would happen if trosky got the power and what would happen in the world of communism!i think such an ideal person as leon trotsky would change the meaning of comunism especxially with the sucess of permanent revolution !trosky wasn't searching for his own glory as stalin and his successors (like the Troika for exemple)he was searching for real communism and justice that he wanted them to dominate the world !i think he is one of the few real communist and a genuis military person and great director of the proletariat!

Methinks you have reached the wrong board, comrade. Good post, though, for the OI section.

Trostky....from what I have heard, the revolution would have not lasted the 30's.

I think Trotsky would have acted more or less like Stalin.
Material reality is much more important than personality.

Redstar, I'm not so sure that Trotsky would have behaved the same way. I think he would have had a very different set of strengths and flaws. Ultimately I think he would have been less authoritarian; however, he without as strong a control over the nation he might not have survived the Second World War. Then again, his foreign policy would have been completely different as well so the Second World War as we know it might not have occurred.
Sorry... I'm starting to ramble. Overall I think it is difficult to say exactly how Trotksy would have behaved, but I am fairly sure that he would have been a very different leader to Stalin. Stalin in my mind was a very unique leader and that Trotksy or Zinoviev would have ruled quite differently.
