Stumbled across this band by accident the other day -- only heard one song, but it was decent. Anyone got any information on them? In particular, is their name just their attempt to be "scene", or are they actually political?

Never heard of them but there are some articles on Google about them. Apparently they had originally planned to change the band name for every album and just keep the same album title which is interesting.
