I consider myself a Anarchist but I live in a rural area of conforming bourgeois and proletariats trying to become bourgeois therefore I have never seen a Anarchist form of activism.

What exactly are forms of Anarchist activism beyond that of confirming yourself as one?

( Probally a stupid question.)

What is your rural area like? What does it produce? What is the labour situation like? Are there high levels of farm workers or immigrants working in the primary sector near to where you live?

What are your skills? Are you academically inclined? Do you have any experience or understanding of economics? Are you good at talking to people, particularly people who you don't know?

It produces bourgeois, bourgeois lapdogs, fast food restaurants, walmarts and more restaurants for the overweight population of America.

Are there high levels of farm workers or immigrants working in the primary sector near to where you live?

Yes, but noone likes me because I am not a farmer or an immigrant.

( Edited) I really didn't say anything about becoming a malicious monster honest. (crosses fingers.) :D

I meant that I was going to join a covenant instead in bringing about a brighter new future by becoming a complacent slave.

( Looks innocent.) <_<

Yep that is what I said. <_<

Well, before we move onto the proper discussion I suggest you move location as soon as possible.

Various groups do various things. The IWW and Solfed for example, organise workplaces in a form of democratic unionism. The IWW have done a lot for Unionising Starbucks (http://www.starbucksunion.org/) recently. And the Solidarity Federation provides important literature, information and solidarity for workers, most notable the gate-gourmet strikers two years ago.

Some other shining examples are the Workers Solidarity Movement in Ireland, which do lots of union-style work, and organise marches and various other actions.here (http://www.wsm.ie/)

The Anarchist Federation is the biggest Anarchist organisation in the UK, of which I am a member. It distributes free news bulletins on working-class issues, organises public talks and film showings, and actively supports the Defy ID campaign. However, it breaks down into local groups that do all manner of positive things things, from resisting the building of a pipeline in wales, to the rise of the BNP or the war in Iraq. Our members have also been involved in resisting incinerators and building community gardens and social centres that rally public support. And we're starting to, in some places, become quite popular. We just need to keep building on these small sucesses, and avoid being a flash in the pan by building on local and not student communities.

There are far more illegal actions that take place of course, far more direct challenges to capitalism, and it seems the Anarchists more than anyone are prepared to partake in acts of economic sabotage.

I would move but I am taking care of a family member since they only have a couple of years left on this world.

After that I thought about moving towards the coast. Hard to say really since I am the delightful nomad.

As for those affiliations none of them seem to be near me in location.

Ok, sorry to hear.

East or west coast? Im not too familiar with American groups but I know there are some on both coasts (east and west), in California and places like DC. However, in California I am also aware in escalating street violence between armed gangs of nazis.

Well, you can get in touch and ask some of the bigger American Anarchist groups if they have affiliates or branches near you. I would recommend the IWW, though it's not exclusively Anarchist, it is run in a 'desirable' manner. Or if you are in the North east by any chance, give NEFAC a shout. www.nefac.net

Otherwise you have the enormously fun task of setting one up.

There's also Workers Solidarity Alliance (http://workersolidarity.org), which is a national organization. It's a former IWA affiliate just to give you an idea of where it stands.

Not really sure. I might even go to Asia or Europe depending on my mood.

You could help with stuff online. The anarchist faq, e.g., is in need of proof-reading, and there are a myriad of websites that need technical upkeep, artsy/designer stuff done.

I also don't know what your living situation is like, but when I lived in the countryside for awhile, I got into organizing groups of neighbors to clean the roads, go on bird counts, remove invasive species, that kind of stuff. It made people aware of their local ecosystem and gave them that much little bit more of sense of control over their locale.

How can you consider yourself an anarchist if you claim to be a nihilist?
