Why not???
Actually, it was winter on Jan 1, 1959 in Cuba.

A revolution can happen any time, winter or not...
Maybe winter would be more difficult, depending where the revolution is going on.

How long did the Cuban revolution last for? Two years? More?
Only the parts fought during winter were important.

October is not in winter.
Do you really think that only the six months of the cuban revolution fought during winter were effective?

I believe it is, but they think around 15 °C is cold enough. And January is the coldest month of the year. This January for instance they had 5°C (something that had almost never happened before) and they froze!

what does it matter? A Revolution is a Revolution, we're all missing the point here! if i wanted to start a revolution, i would wait for a decent amount of support for it and get enough weapons and supplies, I wouldn't wait for winter!

That wasn't successful, at least in that it didn't overthrow the government. Other than that, it was the perfect revolution.
Seriously though, people are more violent when they're hot. A mob is a lot more unruly and much more likely to riot. That's generally accepted. That's why Irish people are so shit at rioting.
