I don't know (am not sure) that Russia is turning back to the USSR (SSSR or CCCP) anytime soon.
I don't think it's going to happen...but I don't know much of Russia's internal situation....
Welcome to this site! Здравствуйте :) (Я не говорю по-русски, Хорошо :P )

Actually, much of the Russian political sphere seems to turning increasingly nationalistic (even the Communist Party of Russia) and xenophobic.

^^^ Can someone please translate all that Cyrillic stuff AT LEAST INTO LATIN SCRIPT?
[Yes, I know quite a few Russian words when "Latinized," plus all but one word of the ORIGINAL Soviet anthem. ;) ]

Napeeshee vopros po roosskee brat, ya otveshoo ee perevedoo dlya ostallnxe.
I might be a little off on that last word. I can pronounce it in Russian, I just cannot "latinize it".
Johnnydarko just sent a salutation. It's not even worth "latinizing".

There are some connections between Putin and the USSR. First the USSR was some sort of a dictatorship, just like Putin's regime. Second, the USSR used military and economic methods to keep neighbouring countries or republics within the Russian federation under controle of the Kremlin, just like Putin. etc...
And of course the USSR was never communist.

Honestly, to me, it seems like Putin is moving more towards fascism, or at least nationalist autocracy. The entire deal with missiles in Europe smacks of militarism and emotionalism, two key ideas of fascism.

If russia is turning anywhere at the moment, it is towards fascism. And there is nobody doing anything about it, there is like 10,000 nazis in moskow but only like 100 antifascists. Perhaps not even that.
The communist party is still strong in Russia, but they are fucking idiots. They wont do anything about it.

Hey i wouldn't be so rough on our COMRADES. It is hard to be a communist in a country that just doesn't care, look at parts of the world now no one really gives a shit, a lot of people are just worrying about their "business" and moving up the capitalist hierarchy but the sad thing is that most of them will fail. The so called "communist party" in Russia maybe weak but at least even if their efforts are small they are not too much of a typical simple minded suit keep that in mind

Why is it all Communists feel they should have an affinity for Russians ? Is that just because it was the birthplace of Communism ? How lame is that ? Does this mean we should kiss the arse of every Russian we see ? I admire Soviet Russia but Russia is no longer Communist.
Instead under moron putin (i'm not even going to bother given his name a capital "p" because he's that worthless), Russia is a safe place for all the nazis and fascists around. If Russians want to be fascists then let them. I hope they end up destroying themselves as they are into all things evil.
Russia has no chance of getting back into Communism. Maybe Bush nuking Russia is just what we need.

Nuke Russia? Hell no! And second, the USSR was most of the time no admirable place.

I shouldn't have said "nuke Russia". That was anger talking. But look at the facts. I read a survey that stated 90% of Russians believe attacks on foreigners are a good thing. We all know Russia is the most fascist/racist countries on the planet. You're got hundreds of thousands of neo nazi groups which the government encourage. How are you ment to tell the millions of individual Russians that fascism is wrong ? You can't do it. You can't tell people how to think.
The so called "communist party" of Russia are probably more fascist than the nazi groups there. Has the country gone crazy or what ?

What's happening rihgt now in Putin's Russia could have been predicted, and I guess Putin wanted it this way. It looks like tsarist Russia right now, but with more rigth wing terrorsts. You could say Russia could be again the first country in the West to undergo a real social revolution.

Are we sure that this poster is genuine?
First, 'her' homepage link does not work.
Second, 'her' faltering English is obviously a put up job.
Third, 'her' IP address is in the UK.
Fourth, I PM-ed 'her' well over twelve hours ago about this and no reply.

Those are all relative material conditions of the people. In the former East Germany, or DDR, many people voted for the nazi NPD, despite DDR being one of the most "progressive" of the "Soviet allies".
We all know Russia is the most fascist/racist countries on the planet.
Well, sure, one of them. The Russian people have gone from feudalism into the Soviet Union, and then into monopoly/oligarchy capitalism. But don't forget Saudi Arabia, North Korea, hell the US isn't much better.
You're got hundreds of thousands of neo nazi groups which the government encourage.
Isn't all western governments trying, in some degree, to support such groups? The US also supports, and have supported, extreme rightwinged groups - groups who have committed many more atrocities than the Russian nazis.
How are you ment to tell the millions of individual Russians that fascism is wrong ? You can't do it. You can't tell people how to think.
Do you think speaking of communism is easy in the rest of the world? Especially now when it's "dead"?
Has the country gone crazy or what ?
No - but Russia never let the US own them, like they own Germany, South Korea, Japan, Iraq and Afghanistan.

I agree with this statement however putin more than any other western leader does this best to accommodate the nazis.
