I wouldnt exactly say that the UN has directly killed many people. However their unethical stance on several issues has been known to cause quite a lot of deaths. For example, in Rwanda the UN peacekeepers were sent without proper funding or man power into a predictable genocide between the two population groups there. One can argue that because of the former status as a Belgian colony there was no economic interest in preventing the Rwanda genocide, and the UN did not properly support direct peacekeeping because of their own interests, or non-interests, which caused the genocide. I believe about 800 000 people was killed.
The Canadian leader for the UN operation was a good guy though, he was the one who gave it media attention when the UN started pulling everybody out. Romeo Dallaire was his name. Heroic guy. The UN sent a "representative" down there in the aftermath to accuse Dallaire of being responsible for not containing the thing. Fucking asshole, he was...
Here's a news link from BBC:

UN also used an extremly passive approach in the Kashmir crisis, where in 1949, when the crisis just had erupted, the UN was to hold democratic elections for the Kashmir people to decide their country's loyalty(independence, or go into union with pakistan or india, signs showed that the election would have gone in favour to pakistan) but they failed to hold it, and even to this day they have not managed to fix shit. You can argue that it is becaues of the UN's bias towards India, the one big democratic capitalist country with several ties with the UN member countries.
Also, interestingly enough, India started pulling out troops when IBM threatened to take out investments. Capitalism, eh?

If you could find this DVD it would explain the failures and unethical stance of the UN in Rwanda very precise. Its called shake hands with the devil, its about Dallaire going back to Rwanda and argues the failure of the UN and the genocide itself.

Accually from what I have heard in Haiti, on a single Day alone 300 heavy armed UN soldiers marched in to an area of Port-au-Prince and started firing on civilians. up to 80 people died. I know they don't do this often but there are alot of casualities resulting from UN intervention.

There's a good article written by Sub. Marcos on this actually.
It's called "For Maurice Najman, who keeps feigning death".
