I've discovered this band today, and they're so fuckin good  They're some mixture of indie rock and punk, I guess (difficult to put your finger on it, really), with political lyrics (leftist, of course :P )
You can hear a couple of their songs for free here (http://www.last.fm/music/The+Tin+Pot+Operation)
Anyway, i've pretty much spent the whole day looking for their music on soulseek and found nothing at all... Does someone know where I can get their music online? Or, if you have it, could you please send it to me? Put it up on rapidshare or something? Please? I so want them... (I'd buy a CD without hesitation, I most definitely like them that much, but we have some new laws and crap, and I'd have to pay a lot for the shipping - and I just don't have that kind of many  )

Eh, I don't really like their sound. It reminds me of Dave Matthews Band.

Im not really into punk and rock ( ) but I have to agree with you, they have a good sound to them. Good protest music aswell.
Here is a youtube search for them.......

9 results.
Would I be right in saying they are from Northern Ireland? (just because their accent sounds like it)

(I fail to see any connection to Dave Matthews band, but maybe that's just me :P )

Hi, Anto here from the TPO - I have a look around here from time to time to keep an eye on the craic. Glad you like the stuff!
You can get CD's via Paypal on www.tinpotoperation.com (http://www.tinpotoperation.com)
Also we just stuck up 2 new tunes on www.myspace.com/tinpotoperation (http://www.myspace.com/tinpotoperation)
Hasta la victoria siempre!
Edit: For some reason we have 2 listings on Last FM, one as Tin Pot Operation, the other as The Tin Pot Operation, which is daft but there ye go, there are a few other tracks up on the other listing too.
Cheers
Anto :)

*jumps up and down, like any decent fangirl would* :D
Yeah, thanks for the info. Love the new songs (although they are all pretty new to me).
Oh, and I've noticed about the double account on last.fm, wondered aboyut that one.
Unfortunatly, I can't buy the CDs. It's not that I don't want to, I can't. For one, there are no paypal services in Serbia (which is where I live). Can't use a credit card either, because the banks here deem it unsafe to use them for paying online (since our credit cards apparently lack some or other kind of protection... ). Some people do it anyway, but I'm just not sure...
If you want to send money abroad, you need to do it via an international bank and pay 15 euros or so for the transfer.
Even if there was a reasonable way to send money abroad , though, I wouldn't be able to receive the CDs. Thanks to some crappy new laws and situation developments and whatnot... It's kinda difficult to explain, but earlier it was pretty easy to get things from abroad, they were just mailed to you. Now, a couple of months back, the shipping rights were sold to a... firm (or something). Now you don't get your goods mailed to you, they are delivered to you by a... a delivery boy, I guess, or whatever. The prices of shipping from the border to your address are astronomic (well, for me), and it's impossible to skip that shipping service and pick the CD up directly. Basically you pay 20 or 30 euros for shipping only. From the border to the fuckin capital. For something as small as a CD or a book or something. I shudder to think how much they charge for something larger or heavier. That's just outrageous.
And yes, it all sounds like fiction, but unfortunately it ain't.
Not to mention the fact that you aren't supposed to be charged any extra fees when buying CDs, books, any objects of art and stuff... By law. But since they can't charge you for that, they can charge you for the fuckin shipping.
So, the situation is pretty crappy. If it was otherwise, I'd buy the CDs, of course, I wouldn't think twice about it... But I just can't afford to pay 40+ euros for the CD + the shipping :( That's a lot of money. That's why I tried to download the songs from soulseek, that's why I'd asked if someone could send them to me ;)
I'd love to buy the CD, really :) But - I just don't see a way.
Don't think anyone is really interested in all this, but I guess I just needed to rant... <_< ;)
