If my memory is correct, the several US states used to incorporate these laws until the 1930's. Me being openminded, and curious I was wondering what a communist's stance on this issue would be. I'm for it.

What is criminal sterilization? It sounds like making criminals sterile, which is barbaric, I hope this is not what it is.

Yeah, it's basically an extention of Eugenics and such, the theory was that crime was physiological and such traits were thus genetic.
I'm not sure how widely practiced it was in the West, but Nazi Germany did a lot of it in it's early days.
As a sidenote, it's still legal to castrate sex offenders in certain countries, I think it's done chemically in the U.S. though.

the criminal issues are quite a problem everywhere
do they deserve a second chance?
should they be killed or re educated?
should they be transformed into vegetables?
i think not
all these measures should be abolished
because justice could be wrong sometimes
and innocent people might suffer because of a stupid legal system
that s why justice depts. should be more tolerant
we live in the 21 st century
and not in inquisition times

Every person who goes to jail deserves a second chance.

I'm studying Criminology in university and I'm quite encouraged to see your responses. Unfortunately most people are not as enlightened as you, and criminal justice policy around the world is built on commonsensical assumptions that don't pan out.
For example, it has been conclusively shown in numerous studies, that to decrease recorded crime rates (which btw say little about actual numbers of crimes, but that's another story) you have to increase the prison population by 25%
So if a politician promises to cut crime by a modest 4%, he'll have to DOUBLE the prison population, at an exorbidant cost. I forget the exact figures, but the annual cost of keeping a prisoner is in the tens of thousands.
