My fears for Redwatch

It is my plan to become active in the Socialist Party, but I recently came across a group known as Redwatch who label all leftists on their website.

They have been linked to attacks, particularly on a Labour Party councillor who was knifed by a group associated to Redwatch. Any ideas on what I should do as I do not want to appear on the Redwatch website and risk attack.

Ah touché. I think both websites should be shut down, as they are a severe restriction on civil liberties. One has the right not to be displayed on a website with their personal information.

Im on it about half a dozen times and im fine.

It's never been a dangerous website It features photographs of 1000's and 1000's of activists, none of whom have ever suffered anything. Furthermore the maintenance of the site costs the fascists a lot financially, and in time to defend it legally. It's a massive liability to them, and one I hope they keep.

It's essentially like me cut and pasting pictures of strangers onto a site and saying im going to kill them.


Any ideas on what I should do as I do not want to appear on the Redwatch website and risk attack.

I'd be more worried about getting your picture in the daily mail. To be honest if you take any action to prevent yourself being identified (masks, fake names) you look like a self-righteous hooligan, and you are certainly over reacting.

I wouldn't do anything mate, it's all a load of hype to try and scare newcomers.

I think rooting out and expelling racists from our working class communities should be achieved by any means. Even if it breaks liberal "civil liberties" what must you think of actually combatting the fascists, good god.

Redwatch was shut down for a time and so were some of its affiliate sites but they returned.

Well, if you feel that your life is in danger then it's best to conceal it at public rallies,etc. though I don't think the SP would be very approving of that. Like Urban Spirit said, a lot of people get their pictures put on Redwatch, rarely does anything happen and only a few incidents have been reported in connection to such pictures.

It doesnt cost R/W alot to stay open. But you're right nobody has ever been seriously hurt. That labour cnllr got a wee scratch on his face, my Cat could do worse.

you know, you should just put a virus on their website or find ways to shut it down. The british government should be shutting redwatch down. But the government are fascist of course.
