View Full Version : Polish anti G8 protestors not allowed to enter Ger

Few members of socialdemocratic Young Socialists, Anarchist Federation of Poland and New Left Party with it's leader Piotr Ikonowicz were not allowed to enter the Germany. One autobus on which were going to protest against G8 Summit in Germany. After few hours of waiting the autobus was let but without few members.

Official reason of stopping activists was having: 'illegal items', they were:
- two balaclavas,
- anti tear gas mask,
- diving mask,
- glass jar,

Polish border police demented the informations of liberal newspaper 'Journal' and TVN24 that protestors were hiding knifes, bats and knuckle dusters.

The protestors were taken to the International Railway Station in Szczecin.

As they took the train to the Germany on the borderline the train was stopped by german border police. The activists denied to go out of train and the train stopped rail communication for few hours. German passengers sayied that they won't leave and put on the windows papers with sings of support for the polish activists.

Deutche Bahn (German National Railways) announced that they will cover another train but only for german passengers. Most of them condemn it and say that they will stay in the train as long as they won't let Poles.

After five hours of blocked railway move the protestors left the train and thanked passangers for support.

They are at the moment on the Szczecin International Railway Station.
