In 2004, Bob Avakian, Chairman of the Revolutionary Communist Party gave a revolutionary talk called Revolution: Why its Necessary, Why its Possible, What Its all about. As the title says, it's basically about why we need revolution in the USA and around the world

-- hundreds of thousands dead in bloody wars for imperialism
-- massive inequality in wealth
-- Police terrorism on Black and Chicano communities

and many other reasons. Why its possible

-- Our class has done it before
-- There is a plan of action

And What its all about

-- What a revolutionary society will look like ie
-- the emancipation of woman and oppressed nationalities
-- education, housing, healthcare, food, and necessities for all human beings
-- a government which engages with the people and is built out of us.

and so much more.

On June 12th, at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem, New York City located on 135th Street and Malcolm X boulevard, (take the B or C train) Revolution Books will be sponsoring a special evening featuring presentations from such radicals as Chuck D and Father Barrios and others as well as a showing and disscussion of the a film of the Revolution talk

Come check it out.

Yeah, I heard about this on WBAI... I'm not really all that interested in whatever Chuck D has to say and traveling up there is a pain in the ass for me, but I've wanted to see this DVD for a while. Do you know what time this is going to happen? If I find myself doing nothing but jacking it on the 12th I might come... haha...alright that was lame. Sorry.

way to be a complete arse  lol it'll be a 7 PM. Where do you live? It's not that hard it takes like 30 minutes on the train. I travel from West 4th Street to the last stop on the D train in the Bronx every fucking day back and forth so don't be lazy

plus its really more than Chuck D, there is a reception after the thing, there will be preformances by poets and musicians, as a revolutionary, you should check it out, you'll meet other revolutionaries and you'll really learn a thing or two.

I actually think this is pretty cool. Not the RCP, but the purpose behind it.

yeah hopefully it'll be pretty cool. I was promoting it today with a bunch of people and we got alot of fliers out, posters and stickers up, people on the street came up to us and talked to us and then actually joined us in getting out the word, so yeah I'm looking forward to it.

yeah well its sponsored by Revolution Books and the RCP but also the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture I think, which is not at all with the RCP, they just thought the Talk was really good. I don't know how many people will be there. That's a good question. I'll PM you or post it here after the event.
