Hey - I want to learn more about what could be considered the 'everyday-life' aspects of Leftist thought and Capitalism by which I mean elements of the system that are not concerned with material scarcity as such, but rather the emotional and psychological aspects of Capitalism including the structure of work and the role of advertising and the 'spectacle' - this is an area which I find fascinating, especially because it is particularly relevant in more developed countries where absolute poverty is not really present. Sorry for being so vague on what I am looking for - I have tried to read stuff like Society of the Spectacle in the past but I found it to be dense and uninteresting - I am really just looking for an overview.
