hello! I'm new on here. my name is jay. I live in calgary I saw something in the news paper about the ara in town. I was happy to hear that there was outher people that see racism as a real problym. I have a few friends here but it just seemed that no one thought that racism was a big problym in canada or just don't care. I'm happy to have found this site. cheers.

I wouldn't have guessed you were new here you know. ("Joined: Just 34 minutes ago") :P

Great to have you on board. First the questions, how did you find this site? Actually, that's it.

Next, the directions to the forums. If you haven't noticed, there is an anti-fascism forum (http://www.revleft.com/index.php?showforum=34). Philosophy is also discussed here, as well as revolutionary theory. If you are new to this, check out Learning.

Finally, the claim about how anarchists have more fun. I claim, and surveys (found in the CC) support, that anarchists have more fun. :AO:

Yay!

outher than growing some balls.
Grow some muscle.

Obviously, try to maintain anonymity, but recognize that your identity will most likely get out eventually depending on the level and intensity of the work you do. I would definitely recommend joining up with ARA if there is a visible racist/fascist population in your town/city. As far as defending yourself against fascists (don't use the term 'skinhead' because the majority of skinheads aren't even right-wingers), I would recommend that you arm yourself with a knife and brass knuckles if they are legal. I would also recommend that you try to be with multiple people whenever possible. Also, train yourself how to fight, whether by sparring and wrestling with friends or taking actual (quasi-) martial arts classes if you can afford them. If you can afford to take self-defense classes and are interested in ones applicable to a real-life street fight, I'd recommend you look into Krav Maga and/or Systema.
