Buildings, infrastructure, billboards, and shipping trucks are not inherently capitalist. Buildings and infrastructure would most certainly be used. Billboards could be converted into public art exhibits or perhaps used for public announcements. Shipping trucks would be used too, things still need to be transported.
So the answer is yes, everything would be utilized by the collectives.

I'd *hope* they'd figure out something to do with all of this stuff...
If not, they actually might be more stupid than the people they just overthrew...

Bascially, all the industries and buildings that exist would be collectivized... and brought into the system as belong to the people wrather than one single owner.

what do you think should be done about national monuments that have been erected?

Turn them into monuments of the revolution.

Yes, there's no reason to destroy and waste them.

If the people are really upset about them, they could be torn down, or decorated and made to look ridiculous.
An example is the tearing down of the Saddam Hussein statue by Iraqis during the "fall of baghdad", though in that instance they were aided by the US military. But you get the picture.

A national monument, when it represents working-class oppression or imperialism against exploited peoples, should be demolished. An example is the La Place Vendôme Column, which glorified Bonaparte, and had been demolished by the Paris Commune. Unfortunately, the French bourgeoisie had the column re-erected after the Commune was smashed.

Monuments could be turned into public art just as the billboards could be. Factories, trucks, shipping yards and boats, trains, ect. would be reconstituted for the use of the community.

Just destroying monuments isnt what should be done in my opinion but rather they should be moved to a museum with all the other relics of the past.

This. There's no need to destroy history. Think of what happened with the Buddhas of Bamyan.

It seems to be logical to turn certain buildings or monuments into cultural centers, museums, or educational facilities. I would not get into specifics, but various centers that promote a feeling of national chauvinism should be expropriated and demolished, or converted into what I proposed in the previous sentence.

I figure that we should keep the monuments so people can have a feel for what the old system's values were absed upon. Erasing hsitory would hurt the cause.

I fail to see how blowing up a monument to pigs that got killed by anarchists when they were trying to break up a strike is harming history.

If you destroy that monument there's a problem on two levels. First, it makes it seem like our side never killed anybody, and never had a darker side to it. Second, keeping the statue shows how the old society cared so much about defenders of the state and not at all about people trying to change it.

I say reuse and recycle everything. There's no need to waste the incredible amounts of resources and labor used to build things like monuments, billboards and shipping lines. HOWEVER, there could be circumstances where destruction may be necessary, as in the case of some structure that symbolizes times past or oppression. DESTROY THEM! BURN THEM TO THE GROUND!
In most cases, i believe a simple rebuilding/restructuring/reform will be sufficient. I would simply paint over all the company logos with nationalized symbols, such as :hammer:

Good points. I say keep the monuments, change the labels. Instead of "in honour of X, great king and leader", make it say "in commemoration of the victims of X, ruthless despot and murderer". Some changes to the original statue may be in order as well.

Something I have always wondered is what would be done with ostentacious bourgeois indicators of wealth...like enormous mansions or anything really you'd see in the possession of a bourgeois.
Would their homes become like vacation homes? Or would they be demolished and turned into a more reasonable manner of housing?

It would be ridiculous to demolish them.
I think they could be turned over into the hands of housing committees that the workers elected themselves; to which they could be converted into communal blocks, schools, community centers, vacation houses, and museums. I think it would be essential to convert them into vacation centers, considering that most workers are not primarily located anywhere near high-income neighborhoods, so it would be most viable to simply allocate their purpose to mere visitation by workers from other areas of the given town or city.

I think the really ugly ones such as the ones built recently in the gated bourgeoisie suburban ghettos should be demolished, for aesthetic reasons. The more historic ones could serve such purposes, many of these houses have 10 or more bedrooms! Why not make them group homes.

Russia placed statues from the old Soviet Union in a park, I believe. We could also do that. Name it the "Exploitation Park"...
