I've seen alot of 'flag art' since the sixties but is one is very nice. low keyed but at the same time as violent as a bullet in the head. The use of the first canon instead of the current, makes the reference extend from the begining of the country through to the present, at least for me. Very very nice, indeed.
but were was it? and in what contex was it shown? I would like to know who made it but if he hauled into court charged with flag desacration already, better keep names off this page.
It is satisfying that you saw the reference to the original flag and thereby the original intent of the revolutionaries who formed the United States. The painting was done in my backyard as a tribute to the dead on Memorial Day and hangs in my house. It has been shown only on the Internet. If you click on the image on my website, you will see a series of five paintings I have printed and sent to people all over the World.
I am happy with the painting and I have not been arrested. Art is not yet a crime.
