What would you do if you ruled the world?
Note 1: Only one thing for lack of space(make it the most important and the first)
Note 2:Please something construictive not destructive(i'm sick of anarchists without any coherence)

The world would be a paradise of open thought and philosophy....school would be more about the humanities.

Side note 1: I would have millions of beautiful women....mostly blasian

Side Note 2: I would play for the following teams...the Seatle Matiners, The Detroit Red Wings, the green bay packers and the 76ers as well as being an acclaimed author

Side Note 3: it would be a socialsit society

side note 4: Blue Cheese would be the natinal salad dressing..anyone not using itwill be shot..this also goes for the national sandwiches...the rueben and the philly cheesteak

side note 5: sunday will be ice cream day

anyways, I would institute a full communist government. All the leaders are figureheads, and the majority rules. Money would be a relic of ancient history. Found only in the museums.

Schools would be optional, but promoted. Beginning years would be a study in communication, language mostly. Later years would more philosophical and big picture oriented. Colleges would be very structured and intense; they would also be very job oriented.

Religion would be banned, but spirituality would be widely accepted. The family structure would be abolished along with marriage. We would be one big family, as humanity. Therefore, communities would live together in dormitories, eat together in cafeterias, and work together in the fields, factories and offices.

Every two weeks, the communities would vote on referendums prompted by random individuals. But, specific law would not exist. Justice would be dealt on a case-by-case basis through community tribunals.

Then, I would step down and let the masses control.
I would spend the rest of my days working in a factory making cars, I suppose....

I give my full support to comrade Lardlad's proposal of icecream sunday's. Finally, a usefull idea. Imagine the results. War, poverty and crime would probably be abolished with this new law. The death penalty would have to be put to practice in every country to enforce the ice cream sunday.

I am in full support of lardlad's highly revolutionized and logical ice cream sunday policy. By instituting this policy we can be made fully aware of the subjective truth that ice cream, regardless of its flavour, will remain a constructive way to establish a state controlled nationalized ice cream monopoly with the equitable distribution of a soft cold icey delicious treat for the entire collective working mass. conclusively, I suggest that we wield supreme executive authoritarian control to lardlad so that we can recieve his ice cream benefits on sunday with mos def while admiring his beautiful woman who we merely reminisce of in distant far away dreams.

If I for some reason had to rule the world I'd probably shoot myself. but if I couldn't do that then I would provide first rate counselling and psychiatric services everywhere I could. And I would get rid of intensive, battery farming and tax the rich more (but not change the system drastically because that would be too much, i'd leave that to my successors).

feoric, you hinted at the "power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely" idea. i know exactly what you mean. i dont know how to avoid that. in the moment of truth, i dont know what would happen, but i am optimistic.

I would also make ethics compulsory at school and change the prison systems around the world and legalise weed, after doing lots of scientific research into it so everyone could be educated as to its effects and I would ban cloning and genetic research.

I would build me a robot that would destroy anyone that was living outside the perameters I set the robot to tollerate. I would include myself in the program, I would then Give it a life of only a couple of hundred years, so man can eventually be free. Then I wouild encourage everyone to live almost tribally, people will form there own communes and there will be no need for oppression as there is no real gain without material objects. Sometimes, to go fowards we must take a couple of steps back, just to get back on course.

'The Killing Fields' is a move about Khmer Rouge Cambodia and Pol Pots regime. Pol Pots ideas were similar to yours. working 18 hours a day on a bowl of rice every day of the week and being killed if i even spoke against the regime is not my idea of utopia. but thats what happens with ultra-collectivism and the killing of individuality.

I would create a universal language all over the planet, which is being evolved by a global UniLanguage Council.

I would force every school in the world to give language tutoring, and than i mean worldwide spoken languages like spanish and english, just for better understanding of various cultures around the world.. then i would order countries to redesign their culture towards religious-free cultures... then making religious-free sub-cultures and so-on; guarded by a bureaucracy-free government, wherein i will be the executive director, eating icecream at sundays.

Actually, I think if Castro ruled the world, he would do it better than he does with Cuba. Because he wouldn't have to worry so much about being toppled. For that reason he wouldn't have to have so many political prisoners. I also don't think he'd last too long, it would be stressful with so many peoples lives in your hands.

as I had proposed before, get yourself a brain trust or a cabinet. The fate of the world would not lie completely in your hands as you would rely on the help of the members of your cabinet. You could have one person from each country or something. It could work. Killing yourself is not the way to aproach the problem. why don't you let me control the world instead?
