I am currenlty listening to:

Brand Nubian and some Sadat X solo stuff.

And this rapper called Bus Driver. His content is surrealist and he has unusual beats. It's kind of what like psychedelic rock is to rock music.

I have to get some new stuff, I am glad Hampton mention pharoahe monch, I remember listen to him a few years back.

Maybe I'm too old school or something, but alot of what I see people listing in this thread can't even be called hip-hop. Eminem? Lil' Wayne? Tupac?? Are you people kidding me? Those guys are rap, straight up.

Anyway, my favorites are as follows...

Immortal Technique
Dead Prez (no matter what Makaveli thinks of them)
The Roots
Mos Def
Talib Kweli
Common
Pharoahe Monch
Afrika Bambaataa (gotta give props to the man who first presented the world with scratching)
Jurassic 5
The Last Emporer
KRS-1
Public Enemy
The Beastie Boys
EPMD
The Coup
Control Machete

...and that's just to name a few.
