Is this not a tactic that was vaguely succesful in the 80s?

From wikipedia;

Inspired by the Stop the City actions of 1983 and 1984, Class War organised a number of Bash The Rich demonstrations, in which supporters were invited to march through and disrupt wealthier areas of London such as Kensington, and Henley-on-Thames (during the annual Regatta), bearing banners and placards with slogans such as "Behold your future executioners!" (a phrase coined by the anarchist Lucy Parsons).

A third Bash The Rich event, scheduled to march through Hampstead in 1985, was largely prevented by a heavy police presence, and was acknowledged by Class War to have been a failure. This event is seen as many as a major setback for the group, and many members left to form other groups or drifted away

I will probably go.

Im not sure what I think of it, I don't know enough about what they (the bash the rich demos) used to be like, or more importantly what this one will be like.

I suspect it'll be all the same faces standing in a police cordon waiting to go to the pub. But maybe not. I mean, I think the idea is good, working class people going to influential rich peoples homes and making a fuss, etc.

But for it to be a real success, Class War would have to attract, and indeed, 'Inspire' ordinary (non-political) working class people to come on the march. I think this generally applies to everything we organise. And is becoming more and more the case.

So good luck to it all.

History repeats itself, first as a farce, and then as a farce again.

It was paraphrasing Marx:

Marx
Hegel remarks somewhere that all great world-historic facts and personages appear, so to speak, twice. He forgot to add: the first time as tragedy, the second time as farce.

If I can find a way to get to this I would love to protest. Although ultimately I question the worth of rebelling against the party that is not in power.

They will be in power soon enough, to me it seems obvious that Labour will lose next year. Perhaps we can nip this in the bud, so to speak.
