All right, people. I’m starting a political podcast. My leftist views are so strong that I cannot pretend to just be another liberal tool like Alan Colmes or a conspiracy nut like Alex Jones. I want to start a show for leftists, with interpretation of politics for our point of view. I need your help.
First, I need a name for the show. It could be something simple, like Pirate Radio or Guerilla Radio.
Secondly, I’m wondering if I should use a fake name. What do you think? Do you have any cool ideas?
I’m also searching for a website that will get me a lot of traffic and viewers, with a lot of webspace for me to post. I found one website called Quotaless which gives this, but I’m not sure how popular it is. If anyone knows how to upload my podcasts to Itunes, I would appreciate the advice. I know Podcast.net will get me some listeners, but Itunes seems the most popular service.

If you have any advice for me regarding the show’s name, a pseudonym for me, a website to host, ideas for shows, etc. please tell me. I will post a link to the podcast when I get it going. ANY advice is welcome.

greetings ! hey its a great idea .. i'd like to help out if I can. I run a website www.3monkeyz.net.. I could create a section for you in the forums where you could posts shows and or news . I also have a limited space on the server if you need to store previous shows.. id add your podcast to the podcasts list on the main page too if you provide me a link and such.. :)

by the way i got loads of anarchist music and punk music and some other leftist music too and I post almost daily news in the forums,, have a look at the site

I dont know about psuodonom but i have a webhosting so i can give you some webspace to store the files in.. around 300 megs and i can provide you with a section in the forums for the podcast and I can give you a blog. I get a reasonable traffic in the forums though Its jus started up so i have few members so far anyway send me a email and we talk

Your radio thing could be broken up into segments, like one part is "Black Flag Broadcast" for an Anarchist segment, and it could switch to "Red Radio" for a communist segment, and so on and so forth.

Which sounds better, do you think? Guerilla Radio, Red Radio, or Revleft Radio? Also, Quotaless is a complete bust, I'm afraid. But I'm working on it. Madhatterz, I will look into your site. If any mods on revleft would like to offer me a gig, so much the better. I already have a few recordings of my work for you to consider, if you would like me to send them to you.

For the very first show, I'm thinking of discussing left-wing politics in general, and outlining our manifesto. If you have any suggestions about telling the uninformed about the leftists of the 21st century, please post here!

I could help write a Communist magazine to go with it... about the headlines or something...I write well. So they can read it while they listen... could get some people to do that I guess.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Although I would need some writers to contribute. Also, which of these names do you guys like best:

Revolution Radio's a good name. Red Radio is also good, but it's more... sectarian. I think we should be focused on unity, because several small sects will never change anything.

Also, to increase traffic to your site (and to save space) just make some 2-minute, really interesting videos to grab peoples attention, and post them on YouTube. With a link, of course.

RedRadio has a ring to it, and that ring is preserved by RevRadio. Use the latter. It's catchy.

As for a pseudonym, you might work "Dutch" into it somehow. It's a little inside, but I think it's funny that a radical leftist would be co-opting Ronald Reagan's stage name. If you don't want to, be my guest.

IMO It should be something like revolution radio. Guerilla Radio makes us seem we're just playing RATM songs all the time :D

Well, a friend of mine told me there's a great set-up on godaddy.com where they give you a basic podcasting template. From there I can publish onto itunes, yahoo, etc. I can also link to this site. I would love to have an official endorsement from revleft itself. I messaged malte, but he has not replied.

Not sure if this idea went anywhere. But I think RevLeft/Che-Lives should put together a weekly podcast. Something like the Viking Youth Power Hour. A mix of serious and humorous discussion on current events, politics, theory, history, etc.

Amazing idea. It should definitely cover all the Leftist philosophies so all Leftists can listen. Like how regular radio stations have Mornin Shows, etc. Anarchist Radio, Socialist Radio, Communist Radio, and then like a DIY one, and Anti-Fascist. Many possibilities and ways to do it.

What happened to this was that I had a falling out with godaddy.com. I had a website for while, which was revradioonline.com, but they were charging me too much to keep it up, plus I got no endorsement from revleft or anyone else.

But it's not over. I've been working with the RCP as of late, hoping to get their endorsement for an official radio show. Until then, I have bought some better equipment, such as a high quality microphone and am planning to release some broadcasts onto itunes as soon as I get over this AWFUL cold I have that makes my voice sound stuffy. :(

If any of you have any ideas for broadcasts or shows, please tell me.
