View Full Version : Women are the downfall of Men...

I'm 25 years old now. and one year into my new philosophy and ideology.

BUT when I was younger, about 19 years. My best friend who at the time was 22 and who I consider wise and had lots of respect for told me that that women were the downfall of men! "It's even in the bible bro!" he reaffirmed me! And well I believed him and If is in the Bible, well it must be true! LOL

Subconsciously I started to think this way. and I reflected back to the time were I felt betrayed by a girlfriend or just a female I cared for and this just confirmed my friends statement. I was never disrespectful or subjective towards women. But the thought was in the back of mind always.

Obviously I don't think this way anymore and I laughed on why I believe this crap. But I'm glad that this ignorance has forever left me.

Regardless this attitude continues. And I noticed it even more now than ever. Maybe is because I've learn that those views are completely fraudulent and there for stick out like a sore thumb!

People I work with and Live with are constantly accusing women and blaming them for their "downfalls"

"We pay for them, give them money and they screw us!"
"I took her in my home, get in a couple of arguments and calls the cops on me!!"
"Fuck all *****es!" etc. etc.

I guess way before any of us were born. Women have been sort of close to second class humans. depicted as evil even by god, and society quick to make them out to be whores if they are promiscuous or 'gold-diggers' if they are materialist and 'pawn of men'.
Though this antagonism may not be as harsh in present day the condescending sentiments remain.

I'm not sure what my conclusion is. But it could possibly be that we as men are judging women on distorted facts with dogmatic elements. It's my belief that men have been playing the victim for a while. Society seems to be more forgiving when men are unfaithful, That's no secret!

Obviously this is not always the case. There are a few exceptions. But in the society we live in, capitalism. This view of women and the antagonism that exist is encouraged and patronized by the system.

Most men who say the stupidest things about women are just scared of women taking control over their lives. That's all.

Men do many things women are demonized for doing. It's obvious that judgement and treatment is heavily effected by the whole "men are superior to women"

I agree with all this, and I sometimes have to struggle with myself not to fall into that trap of subconscious mysognism (spelt wongly). Good post RPAS.

misogyny?

yeah man i struggle not just with this but with many things. I mean 24 years of your life you are influence by your surroundings and ONE DAY you finally wake up. is not going to be a dramatic 180 in a matter of months. but what counts is that we are conscious of it now!

I think the conclusion has to be ultimatley that we think like this as a result of class society. It is not some sort of natural thought proccess, mysogny is a product of our surroundings, a product of capitalist class society.

I agree with what you wrote.

I'd like to have the exact page numbers (or whatever) where it is written in the Bible if you know it - 'cause that's some kickazz arguments when you are debating against christendom!

Well, it doesn't matter if you don't remember exactly where. The Bible is so full of shit anyway! :D

Think, Adam - Eve - the fall of man... Supposedly, in the Koran the same story is told differently and women and men fall through combined action rather then women being the lone deviants

It is common in almost ever culture. In a south American indigenous culture, their creation story started with women having power over men. They used this power to oppress men, untill one day a group of men figured out about the power, and killed the woman. This is how the men interpret their position in society and the reason how they know the secret rituals. If woman are caught spying on the secret rituals they are punished, mostly by death as the men are always afraid that if woman learn the power (rituals) then it will cause the downfall of society. It is generall though that woman are always planing to do this. Except old woman, which is the same in many cultures, western and indigenous such as Aboriginal Australia and Papua, where old woman eventually are told secret rituals and help in preperation.

Basically you need some religious or "scientific" (the old victorian biology thaty claimed women had smaller brains) understanding of power and gender to justify male dominance.

The truechristian kids page gives lots of quotes from the bible about how women should be treated by men according to christianity. This website is good for finding some of the more ridiculous and reactionary things which are put foward by religion plus its quite funny too.true christian kidz page (gurlz) (http://truechristian.com/kidzgurlz.html)

I don't think the site is like a christian site.

I think it's a parody site intended to demonstrate the reactionary shit the truly bible says (thus, the "true christian" title).
