I want to build a cheap radio station so I can broadcast a communist radio station, protest against capitalism, etc. Any one know how I can build one costing as less as $50?

Here's an online version of Abbie Hoffman's Steal This Book which --- though some parts may be outdated --- has a section on guerrilla radio broadcasting.

By the way, this is totally in the wrong section, but whatever.

Sorry. I saw technology on the description, and that's why I posted it here. ^^;

Thank you! Now, I will ask you whether or not you can make a radio station out of an iPod.

Well let's see...

Just google it!

How to make your own pirate radio station with an ipod (http://www.engadget.com/2004/06/15/how-to-tuesday-make-your-own-pirate-radio-station-with-an-ipod/) It looks like you basically juice up the iTrip (or whatever the radio transmitter for the damn ipod is called) and prerecord something, have it loaded on to the ipod, and play it over this glorified souped up iTrip.

As for doing it yourself, that doesn't appear to be too difficult if you're an electrical engineer.

I'm not, so I wouldn't know.

But as for making a pirate radio station, that doesn't seem too difficult and there ought to be a number of sources on the web about it.

Hi! This is easy to do and I've done it. I'll look for links for you.

There are a number of places that sell FM radio kits for about 50 to 100 bucks. They're only legally rated for 1 watt but have shunts that will wire them for 5 watts. You can gang them if you like. I had mine mounted in my car and that's the best plan for Pirate broadcast. You'll have a range of about 2 miles. You are legally only allowed on watt on channels no one else is using so, ahem do that.

They really work. Forget the Ipod thing. Do analog FM broadcasts if you want to get stuff out.
