I joined this great place today and might as well say a few words about myself.
I am 42 years old, live in Norway together with my lovely wife and am a historian (with a minor degree in philosophy) by education. Due to bad health I have been forced into temporary medical retirement, but now fortunately things seem to improve if ever so slowly.
I might not be so ideologically pure as some of you; I have been a radical socialist my whole adult life, but a bit undecided whether to join the anarchist or Marxist camp (Here is your grest chance to convince me!). What was almost most important for me is that all progressive forces should unite in a common front against the common enemy - capitalism in all its ugly manifestations.
I usually only post in threads which I find particulary important and/or where I have some special knowledge. For the moment I am satisfied with lurking; there is indeed plenty of good reading material around here.

Why not be a Libertarian Marxist? (or a Autonomist, Left Communist, etc)

Than you could have the best of both worlds ;) .

P.S. Welcome! :)

Welcome.

You don't necessairly have to be part of a certain branche of the revolutionary left. When 'the' revolution comes you will see for yourself dat differences will witter way, unless the revolution is crumbling, then you will see that every tendency within revolutionary left will point out each other's differences and mistakes.
