this is sort of.. well WEIRD. I am too what you would call and "up and coming" or "aspiring producer" and to feed my self and pay my rent I have to make songs and hope people buy them. If you copy my CD and sell it cheaper. well then I guess "thats bad for business"... maybe I should try doing something else for a living? LOL

I was watching this video here. about bootleggers and rappers. It's sort of confusing and well. an other prime example of Capitalism. and how it turns us against our selves. You got this rappers for example... they are attacking the people in their community because they are stealing from them. To a certain extent this is true. BUT at the same time that guy in the corner selling pirate CDs is the reason that rapper.. IS A RAPPER and is making CDs. you guys get what I'm saying?

I'm probably not making sense at all. BUT just watching this guys go up to their own community and attack them for "stealing from them" well It just sounds sad. It makes no sense. its like the world is backwards. Look what money does. look what earning profit drives people to do...

How in the hell would rappers, and producers exist under socialism? would the entire entertainment industry just fade away???

of course not.
Cuba is a prime example of successful entertainment industry under socialism.
Intellectual activity is also favored, since you have free time and do not have that "get a job or die from hunger" issue.
=P

What do you mean "would the entertainment industry fade away?" Ofcourse not, it would just be supported the way the workers in any industry would under socialism.

No, entertainment would still exist and be produced by those who actually enjoy it rather than simply for profit.

Example: The Cuban government has an official Rap Agency, and there are over 500 rap groups on the island. They make music cuz they like it, not for money. Fidel called rap "the vanguard of the revolution" once.

Sad that the guy with the gold chain was complaining about money when the guy sitting on a bucket with dirty clothes was stopped from making a few bucks? No I didn't think it was sad at all. At least not sad for the record company or the artist.

By the way RPAS you live around LA? Can you get me a job at a studio :D

I think it sad how they turn to those people.. the bootleggers into the antagonist. mean while is the entire system. I dunno.. i hope you get what im saying.

the rapper is just as much a hustler as the bootlegger.

and sorry man unless you know how to run an SSL console you can work for those fucks I do. and even if you did. nothing personal I would never wish that job on my worst enemy

The difference is that under socialism the community would give you what you need and you would keep doing what you are doing, everybody would be happy.

Ok I see what you are talking about now. Yes it is a viscous cycle that we live in.

And no I have never used a SSL board. It's just like all other boards though right? You got your channels, faders, pots, ins and outs and what not. I have just been using an Allen & Heath board lately. Today I finally got my Digi 002 rack in the mail. I am setting it up at the moment.

i don't know about that.
Entertainment will always give you fame, and that can get you a lot of things
And liking fame is not the same as liking art, so i'd guess that those gold diggers would always exist.

I've always wondered about this. Like, if it happens, will fewer crappy throw-away movies, license cash-ins, and sequels be made? Or will people just offer their cash up to "artists" like Uwe Boll?

It is important to note those things do not represent all rappers. KRS-One is just one example.
