I have a quick question that I would like to pose. I'm not sure if this falls under the category of theory or descrimination, but here it goes.

In many communist countries not only in the present but also in the past, we observe many people being jailed for thier political beliefs. Does this qualify as descrimination or punnishment of treason? Under what pretenses is this happening and is this a function of imperfections in the individual governments or in communism?

I am new to revleft and new to Marx's theorys so please to not take this as an attack, but mearly an observation made by someone whose political opinions are constantly changing.

Well, first of all, communism has never existed, and "communist countries" is an oxymoron, as communism is world system.

The political repression that existed could either be the suppression of the bourgeoisie to consolidate the worker's republic, or repression against the working class which happened under Stalin and such.

Go to the History forum and check out the Stalin's Crimes thread on the top.

It's more of a political issue than a social one and thus can be classified under political repression/censorship.

The former.
