First off, if my dad finds this, sorry but this really is for homework.

Now, to all of you lefties. what is your personel oppinion on communism? How about capitalism?
For a quick explanation of my thread, I have a speach that I am forced to do for my communications applications class (hereforth reffered to speech class) and I decided to do it on politics. So, for part of my speech I am going to include personal oppinions of both sides.

communism/anarchism rules! But too bad we do not agree on the way to reach it.

Communism is awesome and capitalism sucks.

Do you want reasons aswell?

socialism does away with pressure from pears who're slaves of pop culture or just random consumerism. Some people, many women f.e., see the fact that another society is possible as a relieve. Communism/anarchism is freedom. Especially anarchists can emphase this.

You're going to have to get more specific than that.

in all of the research ive done on the matter, communism (specifically anarcho-communism) is a better choice for society. with capitalism you put a price on people and the world, and you end up in a world where half the world lives on 2 bux a day. capitalism is also doomed to end, consult your local library for Guy Debord and Hegel. read some Marx. communism makes sense :D

If you are a proletarian, look at your life and how Marxism and communism translate it.

Thats the best concrete proof you can get.

Communism is the collective self-actualization of the dehumanized and dispossessed bulk of the world’s population — the working class. Capitalism is the systemic dehumanization of the working class through boring and tedious work, dangerous and exhausting labor, and repressive cultural norms through the private ownership of workshops, agricultural fields, and other places of work. Communism responds to this private ownership by transcending it and creating a society based upon the free association of laborers where there is no clear cut schism between ‘work’ and fun.

Why thank you. I'd like to say I'm three parts humanist one part nihilist. ;)

That's interesting and something I've never heard of before.

But Marxism-Humanism is not a type of organization and revolution as is Leninism per se, but a form of revolutionary thought more so?

Right. Marxist-Humanists were active but they never really had their own organisation. They were at the forefront of a bunch of union struggles, autoworker struggles, Black civil rights stuggles, & feminist struggles. I think if a modern Marxist-Humanist organisation were to exist it would be one open to any progressive member of the dispossessed and actively work within the struggles of the working class as a whole by being a part of every workers' struggle wether it be Black & Latino civil rights, an end to police brutality, passage of the ERA ammendment, or anti-poverty / anti-capitalism campaigns.

Yeah, Humanism is interesting, I just haven't read enough on it to really understand it.

Would you mind participating if I made a thread on Humanism in Learning?

OKay to get a little more specific im going to ask why is this your oppinion, and please go into a little detail but make sure it is short enough that I don't make the whole class fall asleep, because they tend not to listen anyway. Also stay on topic please because i need to be able to do this by Thursday, May 10th.

Sounds a bit contrary, why not do a little reading an come up with your own feelings?

I have, but for the speech I'm not allowed to count myself for opinions or quotes.

Also, I have almost no time to read alot but I have read most of the essentials I can find.
