I was reading up on Allende and it says that Pinochets coup was not the only coup that was attempted aaginst him, how large were these other coups/leaders and were they all CIA backed?

There was an attempted coup in October, 1970 by a group of Chilean officers sponsored by the CIA. There was another failed coup in June 1973 in which a tank unit was used in order to try to remove Allende. I'm not sure if the US had direct involvement in this second coup though I don't think they did much beyond offering support.

It isn't also certain, afaik, if this was a real attempt at a coup, or just an exploratory manoeveur, to expose units loyal to Allende and to test the regime's willingness to repress military rebels.
