IFC-USA » About Us

We are the U.S. Chapter of the Iraq Freedom Congress. We seek to unite all those who desire an end to the war and occupation of Iraq, and see an independent, democratic, secular and non-sectarian republic emerge from the barbarism and chaos of the current situation.

The Iraq Freedom Congress was formed in March 2005 by labor, political and community organizations in Iraq, with the support of democratic-minded people in Europe and Asia. Since that time, the IFC has grown both inside and outside of Iraq into an international movement working together for a revolutionary-democratic future for the cradle of human civilization.

The U.S. Chapter of the IFC was formed in December 2006 by a similar coalition of labor, political and community organizations who are against the war and support a progressive future for Iraq. The work of the Chapter is coordinated by an Organizing Committee, composed of representatives of the the democratic and working people’s movement in the U.S. The O.C. makes sure all branches of the Chapter are aware of the work of the IFC-USA, helps to coordinate work and other activities, and occasionally issues statements on behalf of the Chapter.

So, what I want is a discussion on the IFC and what it is doing, and what there goals are.
