Don´t know if this is a stupid question, but here goes.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what, if any, is the symbolism of amputating his (Che´s) hands, i read on wikipedia and other places that they amputated his hands after they transported him to the hospital, following his execution
I´ve been researching the web for some time now, and have not been able to find out anything.

I thought they wanted to send it to Castro as a sign not to try to spread socialist ideas outside of Cuba.

I think they did it so they could prove that it was really him they had killed -- with the fingerprints. It was a while ago I read his biography (by John Lee Anderson) though.
