I am a sixteen year old girl from the Chicagoland suburbs. I haven't post here yet because I have been busy with school and life and other forums where I discuss things like comic books and play RPGs!

I have been interested in Communism for two years, and have read most of the basics. I love history and English. Thanks to my Uncle Glen who is obsessed with Nazis (I hope he is not a Fascist!) and owns a copy of Mein Kampf I know alot about that stuff as well. I think it's evil but I admit that the different personalities are interesting and they display corruption and intelligiance, and are human.

I am a tad supersticious though. I like reading horoscopes alot. I also think it's interesting when people predict what will happen accurately. Like the quote in my signature.

Hi and Welcome.... :)

Hope you would find this forum....well, Idk, enlightening, fun, whatever.

Also, following the tradition of apathy maybe (a member):

:A: Anarchists have more fun, seriously

I hope you learn about all strains and thought of leftism there is (left communists, marxist-leninists and offshoots, anarchists, situationalists, autonomists, etc).

I'm were also obsessed with nazis before it became clear to me I were a communist. Having a crush for history of the third Reich and their ideals does not necessairely mean your a nazi.

And here I was, I wasn't going to post in this thread ... :P

But seriously, yes.

Anyway, welcome to the board, and we'll have that superstition beaten out of you in no time hopefully. Post in religion and theology that you like horoscopes, and I'm sure our resident experts will patiently explain why they are a load of shit (example, how the fuck does the time of your birth affect anything else? What does the movement of the stars goto do with stuff here on Earth? And, is there any proof?!).

Mein Kampf is a horribly written book filled with logical inaccuracies.

It should be taught in basic school to show kids how not to write something.

No offence, but I don't think I'd like to meet your Uncle Glenn in a dark ally.

Oh yeah and, hello.

Hey Vera. I suggest you just read and learn if you think you need to.

Trotsky's writings on the rise of German fascism. (http://www.marxists.org/archive/trotsky/germany/index.htm)

RPGs are mighty fun and develop your imagination and creativity. I used to play every weekend with my friends in my early teens. Then other interests took over (and destroyed the braincells responsible for imagination in a state of sobriety). I still play computer RPGs such as the Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights series, though.

Welcome to the board, use it as what it is: a brilliant educational resource. :)

Actually, I too came to this site a "believer", if a bit of a strained one. It only took a few years for me to drop the whole thing ... (Once I left home actually really.)

It may be horribly written, but it's not that, it's the content and the emotions you can feel, almost begging to be freed by your reading it. One quote that is stuck in my head is "They had the indecency to call their dictatorship (referring to Soviet Union) the Dictatorship of the People." (Not exact I know but I can see a possible paradox in wording here.)

The thing about the Nazis is that we know so much, thanks to their own record keeping, eyewitness testimonies, and the fact that Hitler did the most visable actions. Also the culture of Nazi Germany is easier to understand for the average American than it is to understand Late-Imperial Russia.

What I want most is a sense of Unity and Loyalty on the Left which I find in abundance on the Right.

I don't like how different fractions of the Left continue to feud after...what 70 years?!

Also I wish that we can expand upon some ideas so that more people would understand them. I love advertising, and propraganda is the most sophisticated form and the major problem I have with Stalinism is that his chief propragandist told the Red Army to rape the Germen women. How cruel, barbaric, uncreative, and negative that order was is undescribable.

What are you talking about?

Hatewatch lists (http://www.splcenter.org/intel/map/hate.jsp?T=26&m=4) 179 competing organizations called Ku Klux Klan.

157 competing organizations called Neo-Nazi (http://www.splcenter.org/intel/map/hate.jsp?T=28&m=4)

In the U.S. And that's without counting the racist skinhead groups, Christian Identity, or other factions of white supremacists.

I gotta wonder why you'd glorify the right-wingers like that, when it's obviously not true.

Also, what's up with the thoughtless label-mania behind suggesting that all "left" groups, or all groups called "communist" or whatever, should be united.

Why? Why assume that different groups have anything in common just because they have a similar label applied to them? Maybe I have more in common with someone else, who doesn't use that label.

You have to look at the real thing, not just the label or name.

Class unity is what's needed, not "left" unity.

I am more confused than anything at this perticulur moment.
Part of it is probably that I go to a high school where communism & fascism are lumped together in the Totalitarianism unit, the other is because I wonder why wouldn't their be a push for Unity, doesn't a party needs a large amount of numbers in order to survive and thrive?

The Grey Blur

Not neccessarily.

If you look at the example of the Worker's International League in Britain it started off with around 5 members and after a few years was a large organisation with a nationwide profile. This was due to a combination of factors such as an increase in class consciousness but also because those 5 original members had an excellent understanding of the Marxist (as well as Leninist and Trotskyist) theory - ideologically and organisationally.

Point is, numbers alone don't make a difference if these members are all of a low political level.

Plus, everything starts somewhere - the Nazis started off with a handful of members as well.

I think I am over the Nazis now, I think it was because I was so hyped up for my history classes. Maybe I'll take this time to look at other aspects of German history.

How would you rate this forum passion wise? I am known far and why for being passionate, this has won me the admiration of many forums.
