The world today, especially in the US is on pretty shaky ground. Are we really prepared to take advantage of catalyzing events that may soon come to pass in this country, such as a military draft?
The theory is fascinating, and important. However, what is our game plan?
Also, what unique factors inside the US and other western countries need to be considered in dealing with OUR situation? Our situation is unique, and may not follow classical non-specific outlines for revolutionary stages.
My opinion is that even if civil war were to break out within the next couple years or decades, it would likely NOT be a Socialist, Communist, or Anarchist uprising. It rather it would be all of those things combined, along with several others. Economic factors would play a major role, but it would not be a classical struggle that revolves SOLELY around rich vs poor, so the workers struggle for economic equality would not be the primary motivating factor. Rather, Imperialism, police repression, unpopular wars, violation of our constitutional rights, domestic spying, and general Police State tendencies would be a major factor of outrage, even among the comfortably middle class along with the poor.
Any movement would be highly factional. We would likely end up with a federation of conflicting ideologies. In my opinion, USSR style Communism would not be an easy sell to the south or midwest. There will defiantly be the right wing libertarian contingent, but less so on either coast, or the major metropolitan areas.
What would be the logical outcome of such a chaotic situation? I highly doubt the entire country could be unified by a single ideology beyond a loosely associated confederation.
