I have stubled upon a quote that has debate writen all over it. However, if say the name of the speaker the debate will be ruined. (if you know the speaker please keep it yourself)

so here it is:
"100 dumb men do not make one smart man. nor does 100 cowards make a brave man"

I agree with this idea in that we can't rely on a democracy to run a sucessful country however I believe that the people should have some say in how a country is run. This would lead you to believe I am a fan of Republics but I can't see a republic working very long before it becomes corupt. ie The Roman emire and the U.S.

The problem with a single ruler is that no matter how effective, who should take his place when he is dead? Who can be trusted? But I agree with the quote.

But how do we know that the original ruler is worthy of ruling in teh first place

dictatorships and monarchies do a horrible job of ruling because they can't be removed by anything other than a revolution

so really they can do anything they want as long as they keep the people from organizing a revolution.

good quote though

Following what Ymir said, Tito (I think) held the former Yugoslavia together very well when he was alive, although he was a dictator, but look what happened after him...

i agree with the first part but not the second, bravery usualy contradicts intellegence, and i do not look down upon cowards, i do look down upon people who choose not to learn.
