I post at another political forum under the same name, and I decided to add another forum to my list of places to visit often to help me avoid doing school work.
I go to FSU (Florida State), I'm somewhat of a Classical Marxist (not a big fan of Lenin or his subsequent "followers").
And I'm looking forward to getting into some informative debates and discussions here.

Welcome, I'm also avoiding schoolwork, but right now I should rather write my essay than post stuff on the forums.

Hey. I know exactly what you mean about avoiding school work
Lenin had no "followers" distinct from Marx - Lenin followed the Marxist conception of society and simply made contributions to it's key themes. Notably his analysis of imperialism, the need for revolution, and the vanguard party.
I encourage you to keep an open mind and read as much as you can, on this board and elsewhere. It's how I made my mind up to become a Trotskyist.

Hey comrade, I can only echo what PR has just said. I can say that I came to the classics of Marx and Engels before I came to Lenin or Trotsky. In fact I came to Rosa Luxemburg before I came to these two men and I will tell you why; no other historical figures have had their ideas more slandered and distorted than these, more often than not by their very own "followers". I felt exactly the same resistance to Lenin and Trotsky's ideas myself.
I'm reading Trotsky's autobiography right now infact and it seems he also had a great deal of mistrust for Marxists in his youth even once he had swung to the left. I guess then we are in good company (or not :D )
Anyway, seriously, trust that feeling, but first and foremost understand the marxist method, and keep an open mind...

I'm somewhat of a Classical Marxist (not a big fan of Lenin or his subsequent "followers").
Than you should look up Left Communism (Luxemborgists,Council Communism, Situationists, and Autonomism)
Or incidently you can look up either anarchism (and mix it with marxism; somewhat like how RedStar2k wanted it to be like (http://rs2k.revleft.com/)) or use your imagination.
I go to FSU (Florida State)
I live in Florida and would be going to university like in 2008-2009.

Why haven't I seen this site before! I know who Redstar was, but this makes Redstar even more 'legendary'.

Here is my advice (seeing as others offered theirs first), keep an open mind.
But don't let crap fall into it. Like Leninism :P.
Instead, I offer anarchism (or autonomous Marxism). Read up on it around Learning and Theory and ask any questions you might have.
Anyway, what do you study? Economics? PolSci? Philosophy?

Well I know he didn't really have followers, this is why I put it in a quotation, I meant more by it those who followed his line of thought and were influenced by him.

Welcome :D
I'm more of a Castroist myself, with elements of classic Marxist, but I would describe myself as a socialist.
Confusing, huh.
Anyway, enjoy the site!

Welcome to RevLeft KurtFF8. As apparently new trend here is to give advices to people on what to be ideologically, here's my two cents:
1) :redstar2000: Start smoking. :hammer: All real revolutionaries smoke here.
2) If you are interested in non-Leninist marxism, I would say check out this site: http://en.internationalism.org/
Have fun!

"As apparently new trend here is to give advices to people on what to be ideologically,"
That is just me playing on the belief of some people that sectarianism is rife on the board. Besides, we all know anarchists have more fun. So any utilitarian should be an anarchist as well actually.

Well, I wasn't just talking about you.

Nah, they are just caught up with the spectacle, making them believe that they do.
