Basically, Eric Volz, an American living and working in Nicaragua has been convicted of a murder he did not commit. I believe the judge fell into the mob scene and found him guilty, although there is no evidence connecting him to the crime and the judge has thrown out testimony of witnesses who were with him at the time of the crime, two hours away. There is an anti-American sentiment in Nicaragua, which I believe led to the conviction.

Free Eric Volz Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YChhOHrFA4)

He is a friend of a friend of mine and I'm just trying to get the word out. Please click the link to know more about the situation.

Thank you.

Perhaps, if you say he is innocent, you should say he didn't commit the murder?

Um... I thought this might have hinted that he is innocent. And if you watch the video, it says it all.

I can tell he is innocent, I was just poiting out a spelling mistake - in the first sentence, you wrote "has been convited of a murder he did commit" instead of "has been convicted of a murder he didn't commit"

That threw me off a little too. Is he in Nicaragua or Guatemala?

I dont like how this has become a crusade to defend an American. It disturbs me that it is implied that if he was not American this issue would be less important. The issue is that a man is being convicted of a crime he didnt do and that justice is not being served. Not that an American is being conivicted of crime he did not commit. Same thing happened in Oaxaca. Brad Will died and WHAM suddenly Oaxaca made the news and people actually began caring that people were dying. American people were dying. the same day Brad died several other people died too. None of them made it to the news like Brad did.
