Has anyone else seen grindhouse? I saw it last night and it kicked alot of ass. I thought that Planet Terror was better when it came to action but Death Proof had Kurt Russel in it, and Kurt Russel is a bad motherfucker. Anyway, I reccomend it to everyone.

It seems nothing more than the testosterone fuelled, pubescent fantasies of two little boys.
It makes no sense that Tarantino continues to make this cack when he is capable of creating much better films.

Action looks cool and gritty, but doesn't seem to have a good storyline. Once I hear some good reviews...then i'll check it out in the theater

My wife and myself seen the previews on TV and thought it looked stupid. The womyn with the gun for a leg was the "kicker" (pun intended) that made us decide it was definitely not worth watching.

it looks absolutely stupid. the whole concept is stupid. theyre trying to recreate shitty low budget movies that were shown in shitty theaters by making shit high budget movies to be shown in shitty major theaters.

Its supposed to look stupid. Its a tribute to all the bad, yet entertaining action and horror flicks of the 70's. This is why its a double feature. The look of the movie on the screen is intentionally gritty, they have fake previews, and the whole thing is just supposed to be campy and fun, which it is. They are deffinately good movies, and the camp value deffinately knocks the score up alot. The previews are some of the funniest shit in the movie, just ridiculous films like "Dont" and "Werewolf Women of the SS" and shit like that.
The point is that, if you think the preview looks bad, its intentional. This is a movie intended to be seen at a sleazy drive in screening in the late 70's.
Watch this fake trailor (http://www.devilducky.com/media/58566/) from the movie to see what I mean.

Man, I am a big Tarantino fan and all, not to mention my love for Rodriguez's Sin City, but I just don't know about this film. The trailers made it look pretty retarded. I mean, I know their movies are supposed to be dark, violent and over-the-top, but a girl with a freaking MACHINE GUN for a LEG? That's crossing the line into just plain stupid.
I'll probably go see it anyway, though. :D If only because my mental dick is hardened by the thought of Tarantino and Rodriguez TOGETHOR! I'll let you know what I think.

I guess I didn't watch enough 70s horror to have any appreciation for this.
My secret cheese is Ol' skool kung-fu with English dubbing, as well as Bruceploitation and Blaxploitation flicks (only really dig the martial arts ones, like Black Ninja, Black Samurai, Black Belt Jones, etc.)

I saw it two nights ago and thought it was amazing. I absolutely loved it. I loved both films equally, even though they are considerably different in atmosphere and tempo. The fake trailers were fucking hilarious too. I didnt see "Hobo With a Gun" at my screening (I think thats only for Canadian/Euro releases?) but the trailer for "Thanksgiving" was hilarious. The opening trailer for "Machete" at the beginning literally got like an ovation/long clap from the audience in my theatre (as did 'Planet Terror') and I was excited to hear Rodriguez is making a full-length direct-to-DVD version of it! :) It was one of the few films I've been to recently where people yelled funny shit at the screen continually throughout the screening and I absolutely loved it.

Theres still hope for you. Tarantino said hes thinking of making a sequel to Grindhouse, his film would be a Wuxia/kung-fu film done completely in Mandarin and subtitled in English.
