Fantastic film, was on TV the other night. It's also on DVD and Video, for all you old-school criters.

It's basically a biography of Frida Kahlo, a communist painter, who also had a fling with ol' Trotsky. :trotski:

Very well made-I urge all comrades to watch it.

Sorry if there has already been a thread on it, just wanted to express my love for it. Anyone else seen it and want to post their thoughts?

I saw it about 4 years ago in the theater and I share your love for it. The discussion of Frida being a communist and his affair with Trotsky is but a minor part of the film because it mostly discussed her art which I think makes her one of the greatest artists of her time.

Oh yes. Don't get me wrong i was just trying to portray alittle of her life.
She was a truely amazing artist!
And the pain she went through, wow, what a fighter.

I've seen loads of her work at the Tate Modern :P ,,V

Yea she's great! I like the Moses painting, I just wish it wasn't in the hands of some fat-cat Texan philistine!

But she was most certainly a communist - that's how she met Diego Riverahttp://www.abcgallery.com/K/kahlo/kahlo30.jpg
