REPUBLICANS FOR JUSTICE
Noel Maguire Repatriation Campaign Report

Saturday, April 7, 2007

Friday the 30th of March was a massive International Day of
Action organised by the Republicans for Justice campaign. With participants
all over the world demanding the immediate return of Noel Maguire to
Ireland, it was a resounding success. In one united voice we demanded that
this prisoner of conscience be repatriated immediately so that he will be
safe from predatory, racist prison gangs in Britain and be reunited with
his family as Noel has not seen his own children in six years!

Pickets involving hundreds were held in Chicago, Stockholm, (
http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n155/kalimoxo/noel.jpg ) and London. In
Rome seventy-five activists turned out! Other demonstrations and actions
happened in Pittsburgh, Belfast, New York City, Derry, Washington, Dublin,
Germany, California, Missouri, Australia, Florida, Texas, Virginia,
Boston and Edinburgh.

This campaign would not have been such a success without republicans,
socialists and humanitarian-minded people building unity of action across
political labels. The Republians for Justice campaign gratefully received
the backing and active help of over fifteen organisations and countless
individuals. We would like to thank the 32csm, the IRSP, RSYM, New
Republican Forum, IRSCNA, the Free Peoples Movement, CGRP, Boston's
Donegal GAA Club, Na Claoimhte Solais and the tremendous work done by the
Irish Freedom Committee. In particular we would like to praise the hard
work and vital help we received from the Irish Political Status Coalition.

The campaign was also pleasantly surprised by the reaction of some
republican and nationalist parties who, while not participating responded
positively and sent us messages of support including Sinn Féin and Sinn
Féin Poblachtach.

We urge the Irish Government to resolve this crisis before it becomes any
worse for Noel or his family. As this united day of protest has shown,
there are thousands people all over the world who will not rest until it
is adequately resolved and Noel is reunited with his family.
