giao?

My note at the bottom of my posts is from a dude that was on here awhile ago. I've been studying Mandarin for a little more than a year, and I've never seen the pinyin for giao (his name). Can anyone help me understand this? Is it only for names, did he type it wrong, or what. He told me that he was from the mainland. Thanks.

The member that you're looking for is huaqiao (http://www.revleft.com/index.php?showuser=6541) (notice that it's qiao not giao).

So, his username in Chinese characters is 华侨 which is a term used to refer to Chinese who are living abroad.
