I dont if this pertains to anyone out side of the US where the 9/11 truth movement has is swelled to be fairly large presence. Firstly, they are conspiracy theorists that are attempting to spread some rather ridiculous Illuminati government plots. The whole movement has that zealous feel of waiting for the rapture when the truth comes out. They think that when the real 9/11 truth is accepted, then and only then, can change occur. It has a cult like mentality that I think a lot of people cling to for unity, an easy answer, hope, etc.

The problem that arises is that it is a distraction from realty. If you have gone to a war protest in the US you have seen their presence. It can be seen discredit or make anti-war protesters appear as ridiculous. I have heard, and it is quite possible, that the 9/11 truth movement is the largest or one of the largest unified anti-war groups in the US. However, they are not particularly against war or understand the real historical tensions that have resulted in Islamic terrorist attacks, but think that the all powerful US military industrial complex is in complete control and we are all being duped.

It is even more problematic with smaller groups that mix with or contain 9/11 truthers because they can discredit the entire local anti-war organization. It doesnt seem reasonable to simply declare that 9/11 truth conspiracy theorists simply cant be involved with the anti-war organization. Has anyone else experienced such complications? Thoughts? Ideas?

The "truthers" have no substance to their argument, it's just pure speculation but they put so much time into it - time which is really just wasted. Alex Jones running around shouting "we know the truth, 9/11 was an inside job!" is just an embarrassment to the wider anti-war/capitalist movement.

Yeah, I agree.

But this thread's intention is start discussion of how, practically, this can be handeled. The "truthers" aren't soley conspiracy theoriests they are actually affecting the anti-war movment. That is why this thread is in practice.
