I'm a 20 year old schizophrenic. Yes, schizophrenic. I'm not insane, though.

I like to read and write. I absolutely love Shakespearean literature. My artistic appreciation extends into music; I love Audioslave, Oakenfold, Nirvana, Queen, Def Leppard, Guns N' Roses, and Red Hot Chili Peppers among others. I'm quite interested in 80s rock and 90s music in general.

My favorite book is 1984 by George Orwell, a dystopia about totalitarianism. My favorite movies are Solaris (the original by Tarkovsky), and Fight Club. My favorite song is The Killing Moon by Echo and the Bunnymen.

I'm a Democratic Socialist. I believe in direct democracy on the level of ancient Athens (although it was a restrictive direct democracy but still a DD nonetheless), the Paris Commune of 1871, and Oaxaca. I also believe in unionizing companies, i.e. replacing the board of directors with worker democracy.

Hey hey and welcome. I support the advice from JohnnyDarko, avoid the Leninists. They are anti-fun and anti-sex :P. Besides, anarchists have more fun. :AO:

I too think that 1984 is a good book, and you can find a number of discussions in the Literature forum on it.

I also enjoy Fight Club, both the movie and the book. If you haven't read the book, you should. The movie is in my opinion, one of the few based on a book which is as good as the book.

If you want to discuss your political beliefs, head over to Theory, but be prepared to defend them, and be willing to change them. Learning is a good place as well. Any way, hope you have fun here.
