Well, to be honest, I don't see much of an argument...it's basically his opinion.
If you really want to be combative though, tell him that a free market economy only gives people the choice to consume. Workers and the poor don't have the freedom to do what they want or work as they like, they face oppression from their rich capitalist bosses and the social elites.
Ask him why people deserve to own property? And why some people should own more property than others. Just because a factory owner has more money than his employees why should he be able to own huge estates and property while the others have tiny apartments?
Also, communism has nothing to do with "helping build the military." We want to downsize it, if not completely do away with it.

Look up some stuff on market socialism, mutualism and individualist anarchism. None of these are communist, but they provide alternatives to people like this who think that people need to have personal property. There have been a few different threads around these topics on RevLeft.
Also, in a communist society, people will still have things like toothbrushes, clothes and so on which they will use and no one else will.
Another thing, ask why people "deserve to have property". Ask why Billy Gates deserves to be richer then some countries. Ask why people can work hard at two or more jobs and still fail to earn enough to buy a house. The American Dream doesn't work.

"lern to speel"
Barring the notion that English is not this person's native language, I don't think it's worth the time to argue with one who cannot even be bothered to check their spelling. He'll just blow off your ideas like English class.

Tell him of the monopolies and oligopolies that free market brings about. If he is one of those hypocrites that are for the free market, but against capitalism, tell him that free market will always revet back to whatever he considers capitalism to be.
A lot of times many free market advocates tend to be "against" capitalism, and differentiate between Laisseiz-faire and modern day capitalism. What they fail to realize is that a free market cannot operate pure, without any control. If there were no governmental influence (I'm not saying government is a good thing, nor that they the prevent anything...but they claim to) monopolies would be constant and thus free market would evolve into oligopoly capitalism. When this happens there is control over the market, thus competition no longer influences prices. As demand grows and supply lessens owners of a product can up the price as much as they wish.
Also, communists do not advocate military, we wish to abolish it. The idea behind communism is to create a society where military is not needed. This guy obviously does not understand communism at all. A "federal republic"?

One more thing, I'm guessing that the person is confused as to what they mean by communism. Do a search around RevLeft of definitions of communism and socialism, and present these to the person. See what they think.
Often, political arguments fail to get anywhere because of different definitions.

Well, first of all, communist societies focus on the needs of the people and seeks to bring equality for all.
Markets and private property inherently prevent this from happening which is why we seek their abolishment.
PEOPLE NEED CHOICES THAT ALSO HELPS THE ECONOMY
Markets are not the only ways to create choice within an economy. Just look at the open source project.
