You don't hear much about this in the mainstream news, now do you? Nooo. It's all about some fucking grey-haired businessman claiming that "lots of progress is being made". Not "thousands of our troops are refusing to be sent to the slaughterhouse, to be slaughter or to slaughter innocents". Nooo. Everything's fine and dandy.

I've heard of British soldiers deserting in Iraq as well, with their numbers even higher (2,000-ish.).


You don't hear much about this in the mainstream news, now do you?

Um, not to be a nit-picker but, MSN/NBC isn't the mainstream news?

I think he means that while its published, its not really accessible to most people who just skim the news for the top stories.

Instead they got random crap about Anna Nicole Smith who is a completely unimportant person anyway.

Most soldiers don&#39;t desert while they&#39;re actually in Iraq (Where would they go?), however I know it&#39;s the case in the UK that soldiers go AWOL a soon as they return. I think to an extent that we can sometimes forget that although capitalist pawns a lot of soldiers are a psychologically preparred for war as half the poeple on this forum. That&#39;s pretty fucked up.

If the US/UK try to attack another country or step up their operations in Iraq/Afghanistan, we should see even more soldiers deserting.
