I have a question regarding the concept of communism ......
How actually does a communist government work .... I mean how much priviledge do the people have in selecting the government and its leader....
If anyone could explain me in terms of CUBA and Fidel Castro .....???

I am from India and a big fan of Che Guevara..... but still in the learning process

Welcome to the fourms!

If you ask someone like me (and be prepared for a lot of different views on this) I'd say that the organisation in communism is the people themselves. They wouldn't select a leader, instead they would all be leaders and have equal opportunities to help decide the policy of their society.

When there is communism there will be direct democracy. The whole production will be based on "from each according to his ability to each according to his need."

More than from the system that is currently in place in India.

In communism, there are no leader. Since communism is a classless and stateless society, there can be no government. Everything is ran by everybody.

Cuba is not a communist country, it is socialist. Cuba is in the stage before communism, described as "The dictatorship of the proletariat" which means that the working class have seized power over the means of production. Fidel is a dictator who came to power after the revolution. Cuba, however, does have elections; Fidel is just the only person running. Fidel is the leader of the proletarian, and Cuba is advancing well toward communism.

I hope that clears some stuff up.

There are many interpretations of communism, so the best thing to do is read Marx and draw your own thoughts from it.
