This is just one of the craphole towns in the US where the capitalists round up all the poor people so they can die together away from the eyes of middle class. How would you capitalists justify this?

I guess they're too poor to afford Cameras. Note that 90%+ of the population there is White Too.

If you go "bleh thats a small insignificant amount of people" then go look at a bigger town; Starr County, Texas; 50%+ in poverty.

And consider that the top 0.01% of America makes over $1,600,000 a year.

Capitalist Douchebags go fuck yourselfs XD

For Buffalo County?

White persons, percent, 2005 (a) 17.2%
American Indian and Alaska Native persons, percent, 2005 (a) 82.5%
US Census (http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/46/46017.html)

And the 2000 census seems to give a poverty rate of 57% rather than the 70% cited by Wikipedia (another reason why you should doublecheck Wiki info). That's high even for a county in which the majority of the pop. live on a reservation.

Honestly, could you expect anymore coming from an American Indian reservation? The U.S. government has been treating these people literally like shit for more than 500 years, what makes you think they'd stop now?

the US government must be pretty amazing to have begun oppressing people over two and a half centuries before it came into existence.

You know what I mean. The European settlers that evolved into what we know as the U.S. who came here starting in 1492 began the oppression of the American Indians the moment they set foot in the "New World", which continues to this day.

no, im inclined to agree with WTF, to say that the american government was oppressive that long ago is ridiculous. and to then say that we "knew what you meant" is also ridiculous. obviously i didnt, and he didnt. im not saying ive never done it, but if anyone is to have meaningful debate maybe we should all take a collective step away from grand generalizations.the way i see a forum such as this is a palce for peopel to debate facts. that doesnt always happen, but still.

to say that the "settlers" were the first to oppress native americans and that since then it has grown or continued is ludicrous. the first europeans to arrive in america werent able to survive here without aid and cooperation with the native populace. what of lief erricson, who was in nova scotia long before columbus? or the french who traded peacably with the indians for years before european war boiled into the new world? the european nations that columbus and his men represented also have nothing to do with america as we know it now. maybe central american nations feel they're particular bootprints, but the america as we know it was founded more by religious fanatics arriving in later centuries. not spanish or portugese explorers come to find a route to china, and later to find gold and exploitable resources.
