basically it explains how the Reserve Army Labour keeps down wages, as it scares the workers who demand higher wages, as they can easily be replaced by members of this Reserve (unemployed)

it is in this sense that a capitalist country must have a significant amount of unemployed in order to maximise its rate of GDP, by keeping the workers in check with it - (8% unemployment is the rate at which the GDP could be maximised under capitalism - disgusting)

I don't think the right wingers really are looking deeply into the economic issues of immigration (which, in reality, should be the economic issue of lay-offs, out-sourcing, etc)

I think some right wingers just want don't even want to consider the economic factors and they just blame immigrants because they are really xenophobic and rascist; even if they make up "economic reasons" to stop immigration.

right-wingers always come up with the boring old "they're taking OUR jobs!" when they see foreigners coming to work in their country, mostly for economic reasons

and it's funny how right-wingers only start to moan about out-sourcing when they have to actually come in contact with those being exploited - like in the UK where most of the corporations' call centres are based in India, and the right-wingers don't like talking to someone who has english as a second language

they don't care about those that they don't come into contact with, however, i.e. sweatshop workers just down the road from that Mumbai call centre...
