Has anybody here read Jennifer Government?

It sounds good. It's about a world where corporations are the ultimate rulers, but then I read this (http://www.maxbarry.com/whatmaxreckons/2005/01/news.html) and it made me not want to read it. I hate when people cash in on anti-corporate sentiment only to admit they're basically pro-corporate. Still, I'd like to know if it's worth the time.

I picked this up thinking it'd be a fun read a little while ago. Got a little ways in before giving up on it. The fact of the matter is that, while the plot certainly sounds spiffy, the book itself is boring as fuck. It's written in a dry, droll fashion that's a wasteland of useless dialogue/description that goes fucking nowhere, is devoid of any humour or irony, or any other redeeming quality. Skip this one...

And, heh, after reading that article you link to it's no surprise that this book is half-assed.
