View Full Version : Teachers' union

Im trying to get my mother to band together with some other disgruntled teachers at her school to organise some sort of resistance against the board of directors in particular, and government policy in general.

The hollowing out of the profession, the increasing workload and disdain shown by the directors (who often havent spent a single day in front of a class in their lives yet tell everyone whats best) have made many people unhappy, whilst union bureaucrats are scared to undertake any serious action or simply do not want to.

Now, i've got my mother convinced that the creation of a union at her school (whilst staying inside the conventional union, but operating seperately), is tactically speaking the best thing to do.

So, does anyone have some practical ideas to get this off the ground?
