What are your oppinions of him? I think he was an excellent guitar player and a great song writter. He was able to blend many different genres of music and was extremely creative.

he is great i've got a few of his albums and just got Does humour Belong in Music the dvd and it is awesome, he always gets great musicans to play with, such as talented man he was. But i value him more for his songwriting then guitarplaying but still a great player

Vanguard genius.
I just love his work - impressive and complex music allied with intelligent humour.
And yes, the Mothers simply rocked.
:P
He's got an huge amount of material to listen to - I recommend 'Absolutely Free', 'Waka/Jawaka' and 'Sheik Yerbouti' for the starters.
Ah! It wasn't because of him they made those stickers - they became as the result of a flame war on Ratt, Twisted Sister and hair-metal likes of the early 80's.

oh, cause i've read Zappa's biography, and there's a chapter called "Porn Wars", and i thought I read that it was because of him... :P
but it's a long time ago, so could be wrong.

He was hands down the greatest musical composer of the 20th century. Period.
